Winter

Since my greenhouse got destroyed in a storm in the fall, and the new one hasn't gotten built yet, I'm going to try winter sowing this year. From what I've read, it produces strong plants, much more so than growing indoors. So, here is my first group of tiny greenhouses. I will do some more this weekend when I get some more soil and containers.

In these containers I have:

  • Black Krim Tomatoes
  • Chocolate Cherry Tomatoes
  • Red Cherry Tomatoes
  • Black Cherry Tomatoes
  • Italian Heirloom Tomatoes
  • Sweet Banana Peppers
  • Sweet Pepper Hybrid Mix
  • Cucumber - Pickle bush
  • Squash - Yellow Summer Crookneck
  • Zucchini - Dark Green
Did I mention that I like tomatoes? :)

The new greenhouse will be built using old windows, similar to this. I haven't nailed down the design completely yet. More to come on that.

Also, I'm deciding on the location for the garden. Last year I was unable to put it in one location like I wanted to, so I used containers for a lot of it. This year I want to have one area. But, a lot of preparation has to be done in order to achieve this. For example, three trees need to be taken down, lots of dirt brought in, raised beds built. I guess I better get to work :)
